There is so much emotion in this scene. Relief, happiness, sadness, regret, love. The way Sam approaches his dad because he isn’t sure if John would want to see him. The soft way he says, hey dad. And Dean’s face! In that instant he has everything he ever wanted. His family. All together again.

Provided that this was intentional and not a random coincidence, I think introducing Sammy’s ‘visions’ this way is quite clever. Because right now we don’t know if they are actually some sort of visions or what he is seeing is just based on real memories he has of the past.
