My father died and I found out yesterday through email.
Long story short, yesterday, via email, I found out my father died. The funeral is in NOLA (his hometown) next week and I need help getting there, paying for lodging as well as financing my leave of absence from work bc i will not be paid for 1 month.
A round trip flight is $155 (my aunt only bought tickets for my brothers so I need to pay for this myself)
And lodging is $80 a night and Ill be there for 4 days so that will be $320
I also would like to have a couple hundred dollars available for transportation as well (to and from both airports, to and from the funeral, etc.)
I will not be returning to work for a month when I get back and on average I make about $1900 a month. Me not working means I cannot pay rent, bills, and/or buy groceries.
The total I need is $2575
Rather than just have people donate in good faith, I would like to offer for every donation of at least $10 will serve as a raffle ticket for a free commissioned art piece from me as I was planning on opening up commissions for my art this week until I was told this news. For example, $10 would be one entry, and $100 would be 10 entries. I want to let you guys know you are appreciated and I wanna give back something I am passionate about to show my appreciation for your continued support. Attached are pics of some of my recent pieces.
Donation methods:
I would use GFM but again, I need to book my flight and Airbnb ASAP and GFM takes forever to send $ and takes out hella fees.
I know this is a lot of money to raise in a short period of time but I really need help.
